Friday Afterschool Open Makers Space We will offer kids a variety of S.T.E.A.M. activities, in addition to hand and machine sewing instruction. Pre-registration required! Fridays after school, starting September 15th. We pick up Wilbur McMahon students at dismissal. 3 pm - 4:30 pm $15/child Ages 7 and up Cardboard Challenge!!! Create a functional cardboard game, embellished with recyclables. We will exhibit them in a "Cardboard Arcade" at the Little Compton Community Center, where participants and the public will be invited for "Game Night" on May 10th! Awards will be given!!! "Cardboard Arcade" Game Night!!! Cardboard Challenge Participants will have their games displayed in this "Cardboard Arcade" extravaganza. Guests are invited to view and play these innovative cardboard creations!!! R.S.V.P. required. May 10th 5:30pm - 7pm Minimum Suggested donation $5/guest or $15/ family Young Artists Show Kids in grades K-12 are invited to submit their original artwork for our annual Young Artists Show Fundraising Event! More details coming soon. July 19-21 Woodworking Camp In this exciting hands-on course, students will be creating a small Shaker-inspired step stool using hand tools. Students will customize the legs of the stool as well as finish the surface in a stain or paint. Instructor: Rebecca Levi. Becca is an experienced educator who currently teaches PK–8 woodworking at Dedham Country Day School. Find out more about Becca here: www.rebeccalevi.us August 13th, 14th, and 15th 9 am - 3 pm Ages 9 - 12 Registration coming soon! Pet Portraits Kids will use the "grid method" to create an accurate illustration of their favorite pet. Their portrait will then be painted and embellished with a variety of materials to choose from. Participants will be asked to bring in a photo of their furry friend! Coming this summer, more details to follow! Additional programs will be offered throughout the summer! |
