Time: 6-9pm

SPRING SCHEDULE : April 26th-June 14, after school 3-4:30pm. $5/maker.  Please visit the calendar page for details.

Looking ahead: 2019 Summer Schedule will be Thursday evenings, 6-9pm.  Starts June 20  - Ends August 29.

$10/maker if dropped off or $5/maker if attending with an adult - open to all ages; visitors can explore...

  • 3D Design & Printing (3D prints have an extra added material cost of $0.25/g)
  • Vinyl Cutting: design your own stickers and t-shirts, etc. (Heat transfer vinyl is an extra added material cost of $1.50/sheet)

FIRST® = For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology

Designed to introduce STEM concepts to kids ages 6 to 10 while exciting them through a brand they know and love: LEGO®. 

2019-20 Theme is Boomtown Build: What if you could build a better world?  Where would you begin?  More than ever, we must come together to innovate and solve problems. In FIRST, you are part of a thriving community brimming with inspiration, creativity, and hope for a stronger, more sustainable future—one that’s built better together. You have the power to help the cities, towns, and places you call home reach new heights. With the support of the FIRST community, this is your opportunity to lead our future forward—and up.

Club Invention ®


(Various modules hosted intermittently)

Club Invention is an exciting after-school program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame where children grades 1st through 6th participate in activities focused on creative problem-solving and Innovation!

Squishy Circuits™


 Squishy Circuits use conductive and insulating doughs to teach electrical circuits and engineering concepts through play.  

(Offered at Open Makerspace and as an after school program as scheduled - see calendar.)

Jr. Woodworking Workshops


Projects teach the basics of woodworking: hammering, measuring, sawing, drilling, planing, finishing, etc.

Projects teach the basics of sewing: hand sewing, parts of a machine, threading a machine, control of the fabric, sewing a straight line and on a curve, ribbon casing and adjusting the stitch.

Other programs

Learn To Tune Your Bike

A collaboration with Velofix Southcoast: Mobile Bike Shop, all ages were helped with tuning their bikes for Summer.

Solar Cookout

Families learned about solar energy and then built simple solar ovens to cook nachos, tortilla pizzas & smores!

Themed Making Nights

Making and challenges based on themes such as: Valentines, Storybook, Easter, Mother's Day & Memorial Day, Father's Day, Thanksgiving & Christmas, etc.

LC Grange Youth Nights

2018 - Our FLL Jr. Team presented their Aqua Adventure project to Grange members.  2017 - LC Makers Families & Grange members collaborated on Mystery Bag Challenges.

Mini-Golf Hole Design & Build

Designed and built a mini-golf hole for a Little Compton Prevention Coalition Fundraiser.

Rug Hooking

In collaboration with Loop By Loop Studio, children learned the basics of rug hooking and used a kit to craft a mug rug.
